It always brings a smile to my face when students excitedly bring me the artwork they make at home. It is even BETTER when it relates or has something to do with what they are currently studying.
Third graders worked on Aboriginal dot paintings which inspired a few artists to bring drawings in from home. The class decided to take a vote on the best one, and the winner had lunch in the art room. (All three were winners in my book,
so we had a little lunch party).
Today I received a piece of paper FILLED with patterns, which the first graders just worked on. She was as excited to show me as I was to see it.
I have a Gallery Wall which displays these at-home artworks and students are always welcome to bring me their creations.
Please encourage your children to share their knowledge and maybe even show you what they are learning.
