Kindergarten
Kindergarten artist have been working nice and hard on so many projects! You should see a lot of these coming home in the next few weeks if you haven't already! We just finished up our Space Rockets and have moved on to Polar Express Trains!
First Grade Art
First grade took a look at some artwork by Leonardo Da Vinci, and we tried to figure out why Mona Lisa was smiling. Next we will be learning the difference between warm and cool colors by creating a collage!
Second Grade Art
Second grade is finishing up their unit on Egyptian art. We learned about Pyramids, Hieroglyphics and so much more! We'll be doing some complimentary color studies before learning about architecture!
Third Grade Art
Third grade has FINALLY finished their recycled robots!!!! These should be coming home this week or next. Using our robots as a starting point, artists are creating and illustrating a story book.
Fourth Grade Art
Fourth grade has moved on to mask making! This eight week project has many steps until we get to the finished product, but it sure will be worth the time.
Fifth Grade Art
Fifth grade has been studying Value - shades from Dark to Light - which make things look more real. Looking at the artwork by M.C. Escher, we were inspired by his different value techniques and practiced our own. After we finish our One-Point Perspective project we will move on to creating a tessellation inspired by Escher.
